Field Service ROI Calculator

Manual dispatch does not show up as a line item — it shows up as hours. Enter your crew size, job volume and hourly cost to see what coordination, paperwork and avoidable drive time are costing you each month, and what a scheduling system could realistically give back.

Your team

People doing billable work on site

Average, not peak

Wage + taxes + vehicle + overhead

Typically 20–22

Time lost per job

Calls, texts and rescheduling to get the right person to the right address

Work orders, photos, signatures, re-typing notes into the office system

Backtracking caused by routes built by hand

Keep this conservative. No tool removes coordination entirely.

This is an illustrative estimate produced from the values you entered — not a measurement of your business and not a promise of savings. Adjust the inputs to match your own records before using the figure in a decision.

How the calculation works

Step 1 — job volume. Technicians × jobs per day × working days = jobs per month.

Step 2 — overhead per job. Coordination + paperwork + avoidable drive minutes, summed for each job.

Step 3 — cost. Those minutes converted to hours and multiplied by your loaded hourly cost.

Step 4 — recovery. Only the share you set as recoverable is counted, then annualised over twelve months.

Frequently asked questions

How does this field service ROI calculator work?

It multiplies the time your team loses on manual coordination — phone dispatch, paper work orders, chasing proof of work and avoidable drive time — by your loaded hourly cost, then applies a recovery rate to estimate what a scheduling system could give back.

Where do the default time assumptions come from?

The defaults are conservative planning figures, not measured results from your business. Every input is editable — replace them with your own numbers to get a figure that reflects your operation.

What is a loaded hourly cost?

The full hourly cost of a technician to the business: wage plus payroll taxes, insurance, vehicle, fuel, tools and overhead. It is typically 1.3 to 1.7 times the base wage.

Is the result a guarantee of savings?

No. The output is an illustrative estimate based on the values you enter. Actual results depend on your workflows, crew size, job mix and how consistently the system is used.
